The Nurse Associate functions as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, and assists physicians with procedures, as necessary. The main procedure performed by a nurse in this position will be leukapheresis, primarily to collect peripheral blood stem cells prior to allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. Extra-corporeal photophoresis (ECP) is also performed. Experience with procedures such as dialysis and IV access is ideal. Training for apheresis will be provided. Additional
